NACo Officers/County Officials
NACo
President Randy Johnson discussed his initiatives of "global, digital
and sustainable" at the annual summer conference of the Ohio County
Commissioners' and County Engineers' Associations in Hamilton County (Cincinnati),
Ohio. The conference was held May 31-June 2.
Johnson
spoke before the National Academy on Public Administration during the group's
annual meeting June 4-6 in Boulder, Colo. Johnson discussed regional governance.
NACo Staff
Edwin
Rosado, NACo's new legislative director, announced on July 8 that Jeff Arnold
will be NACo's deputy legislative director. Arnold has been an associate
legislative director with NACo since 1994. Before that he worked for the
U.S. Department of the Interior and on Capitol Hill.
Winifred
Lyday, director of information technology services, represented NACo at
the first meeting of the Applications Steering Committee for the newly created
Office of Earth Sciences/NASA on June 29-30. The new Applications and Outreach
Division offers a better possibility for counties to obtain remotely sensed
data.
