The EPA is sponsoring"Global Climate Change: What Does It Mean for the Mid-Atlantic States?" Nov. 18 in Philadelphia, Pa. This one-day conference will draw public and policy-maker attention to the science of global warming and policy issues affecting global climate change; provide a balanced perspective on the potential economic and environmental risks to the Mid-Atlantic region, including potential risks to human health, and the unique threats to forests and fisheries; and identify specific policy strategies to reduce the risks associated with climate change.

The University of California and agricultural industry officials will discuss "Where in the World Are the Markets," at the annual California Executive Seminar on Agricultural Issues on Dec. 11, in Sacramento. The seminar will look at factors driving changes in world markets and some long- and short-term risks associated with world agriculture trade. The program is limited to 150 participants.
