December conference to focus on application of new high resolution satellite data

With the next generation of land observing satellites soon to be operational, more than 700 experts from satellite companies, value-added producers and end-user communities will meet, Dec. 3-5 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C., to examine anticipated applications, detect potential problems and discuss common solutions. County governments may soon find new data sources for traditional and new applications.

Sponsored by The American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS), in conjunction with several federal agencies, the Land Satellite Information in the Next Decade II: Sources and Applications Conference will give participants an opportunity to learn about plans for utilizing these land satellite information sources from all sectors.

More than 50 speakers will describe a broad range of applications and the exposition will showcase the newest products and services from more than 40 private sector and government organizations. NASA will sponsor a reception Thursday evening planned for the Air and Space Museum to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the first Landsat launch.
