Vice President Al Gore and NACo President Michael Hightower end their meeting

along with representatives from the National Governors' Association, the
U.S. Conference of Mayors, the National League of Cities, the National Conference
of State Legislators and other local government associations, met with the
vice president to discuss Medicaid gaps, clean air and transportation funding,
among other issues. The June 6 event was the first in a series of high profile
meetings over the next week between county officials, the Administration
