Exposure to lead, mold, radon, tobacco smoke, and carbon monoxide can cause harmful health effects including: behavioral problems and learning disabilities, seizures, upper respiratory illnesses, cancer, skin irritation and other allergic reactions, headaches, nausea, dizziness, and more. Smoking in your home or in your car also increases your family’s risk for disease. Exposure to secondhand smoke can also increase your child’s risk of developing asthma, can trigger asthma episodes, and increase the severity of attacks. Try to quit smoking or reduce the amount you smoke.
