NACo Officers, County Leaders
  • President Bryan Desloge was a keynote speaker at the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania’s Fall Conference in Dauphin County on Nov. 21.

 

NACo Staff

  • Andrew Hartsig has joined the research department as a research manager. Hartsig will lead different research projects, especially those focused on county operations, structure and the future of counties. Prior to joining NACo, he was employed by the Loudoun County, Va. Office of Management and Budget and has served as  a policy and research analyst at the Arizona Association of Counties, a fiscal analyst at the Arizona Joint Legislative Budget Committee and a budget analyst at the National Science Foundation. He holds a master of public policy from George Washington University.
  • Also new to the research department: Tadas Pack who joined the department full-time as a research assistant. He initially joined NACo as a research intern in the fall of 2015 and was instrumental in the data collection and analysis of audited county financial statements. He will now work on the data analytics for a number of research projects, including County Economies, County Explorer and other trend analyses. In 2016, Tadas obtained a bachelor of science in economics from the University of Maryland.

 

Coming Up

  • Emilia Istrate, research director; Jack Morgan, program manager; and Linda Langston, strategic relations director will be at the Colorado Counties Inc. Winter Conference in El Paso County, Nov. 28–30.
  • President Bryan Desloge and Andrew Goldschmidt, membership-marketing director, will represent NACo at the California State Association of Counties Annual Conference in Riverside County, Nov. 29–Dec. 2.
  • Matt Chase, executive director, and Goldschmidt will be presenting at the County Commissioners Association of Ohio Winter Conference in Franklin County, Dec.4–6.
  • Alex Koroknay-Palicz, membership coordinator, and Sharon Russell, senior program director NACo FSC, will attend the Association of Minnesota Counties Annual Conference in Hennepin County, Dec. 4–6.
  • Goldschmidt will represent NACo at the Maryland Association of Counties conference in Dorchester County, Dec. 7–9.
