NACO OFFICERS, COUNTY OFFICIALS
  • President Sallie Clark represented NACo at the California State Association of Counties Legislative Conference, May 18 .
  • Congratulations to James “Jim” Neal, public works director, Charleston County, S.C., who was named to the 2016 Top 10 Public Works Leaders by the American Public Works Association.The Top 10 program focuses on outstanding achievements of individual public works professionals from both the public and private sectors in North America.

 

NACo STAFF

  • David Jackson has joined the Public Affairs Department as communications director. Jackson manages and coordinates media relations, digital communications and social media. Prior to joining NACo, he was a senior communications advisor at The Brookings Institution where he formulated communications strategy and policy messages.
  • Adrian Nicholas moved from the health and justice program to join the digital communications team as Public Affairs’ social media specialist. Nicholas has a background in policy and communications, and interned in the Broome County, N.Y. executive’s communications office. He has a B.A. from the State University of New York at Cortland in communications, and a master’s degree in political science from American University.
  • Luana Mayfield will serve as an administrative assistant in the Executive Office, where she will perform a wide range of administrative duties. Prior to joining NACo, she was the program and event assistant at Giuffrida Associates, consultants in association management, conference and meeting planning. She holds a bachelor’s degree in international affairs from Lewis & Clark University, and a master’s degree in linguistics from the University of Murcia in Spain.

 

COMING UP

  • Matt Chase, executive director, and Andrew Goldschmidt, membership-marketing director, will attend the Colorado Counties Inc. Summer Conference in Routt County (Steamboat Springs), June 6–8.

Start preparing for NACo Annual Business Meeting

To be eligible to vote at the 2024 Annual Business Meeting, NACo members must register for the Annual Conference, pay 2024 NACo membership dues in full and designate one voting delegate by 5 p.m. EDT July 8.
