  • NACo First Vice President Roy Charles Brooks was a featured speaker at the New Mexico Association of Counties Annual Conference held in Taos County, N.M. June 21—23.

 

NACo Staff

  • Daniel Nugent has joined NACo as the new health program manager in the County Solutions and Innovations Department, overseeing the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation County Health Rankings & Roadmaps program, the Aetna Foundation Healthiest Cities & Counties Challenge and NACo’s Healthy Counties Initiative.  Daniel previously worked as a lobbyist for Public Citizen’s Global Access to Medicines and as director of advocacy for the American Dental Education Association. 
  • Christopher Harvey and Valerie Brankovic have joined NACo’s Legislative Affairs Department as legislative assistants.  They will support legislative associate directors by conducting legislative research, writing and editing blog articles and assisting in NACo’s overall federal advocacy efforts.  
  • Arthur Scott, associate legislative director for rural development, outlined local government priorities for the upcoming Farm Bill at the National League of Cities Annual Conference in Cuyahoga County (Cleveland), Ohio, June 20.

Start preparing for NACo Annual Business Meeting

To be eligible to vote at the 2024 Annual Business Meeting, NACo members must register for the Annual Conference, pay 2024 NACo membership dues in full and designate one voting delegate by 5 p.m. EDT July 8.
