NACo Officers, County Officials

Mark Rhodes, clerk, Woods County, W. Va., and Alan King, probate judge, Jefferson County, Ala., have been appointed to the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity. The commission held its first meeting July 19.

NACo President Roy Charles Brooks spoke at the South Carolina Association of Counties Annual Conference held in Beaufort County (Hilton Head), July 30–Aug. 2.

Brian Bowden, associate legislative director, represented NACo at Aspen Institute’s three-day strategic conversation on health and early childhood development, July 31–Aug. 2. The Aspen Institute is located in Pitkin County, Colo.

On April 16, the Second Chance Reauthorization Act of 2024 (H.R. 8028) was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives with robust bipartisan support. NACo supports this legislation, which would reauthorize funding for Second Chance Act (P.L. 110-199) programs for five years.
