Indoor Air Quality
From the early 1990’s through 2007, NACo’s Indoor Air Quality Program helped counties improve indoor air quality and make their communities healthier. NACo has developed a comprehensive resource CD for counties. The purpose of this CD is to provide your county with a sufficient amount of facts, resources, and best practices to either begin or expand your county’s indoor air quality program.
The CD is organized by the following indoor air quality priority areas:
- Indoor Asthma Triggers
- Mold
- Radon
- Environmental Tobacco Smoke, and
- Indoor Air Quality in Schools.
Within each of these folders you will find extensive resources of information such as:
- Case studies, brochures, fact sheets, checklists, public service announcements, and presentation by counties across the nation;
- Factual scientific information on the health effects of exposure to these harmful indoor air pollutants;
- Educational and outreach materials including bilingual materials;
- Model county ordinances and resolutions; and
- A listing of additional resources including non-profit organizations, USEPA and other agency websites, trainings, events and conferences, and media materials.
For more information or to request a copy of the CD contact Kelly Zonderwyk at kzonderwyk@naco.org or 202.942.4224.
