Energy Efficiency,Conservation Block Grant funding announced
Deadlines Nov. 19 and Dec. 12
The U.S. Department of Energy has announced its funding plan for the competitive grant section of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program (EECBG). Funding will be in two categories: TheRetrofit Ramp-Up Program and the General Innovation Fund.
The Retrofit Ramp-Up Program will provide up to $390 million for eight to 20 project awards funded at $5 million–$75 million each. Both eligible and non-eligible counties (under the EECBG funding formula) may apply.
The General Innovation Fund provides up to $63.68 million for projects of $1 million–$5 million for 15–60 awards. The General Innovation Fund is limited to local governments that were not eligible to receive direct EECBG funding allocations through the EECBG formula grants.
Although not a requirement to apply, a letter of intent for application is requested and due Nov. 19. DOE will use them to organize and expedite the merit review process.
