RFP Issued for the National Urban and Community Forestry Challenge Cost-Share Grant Program

The U.S. Forest Service recently issued a Request for Proposals for the National Urban and Community Forestry Challenge Cost-Share Grant Program. There is approximately $900,000 available for projects within four issue areas:

  • Energy conservation and urban forests,
  • Climate change and urban forests,
  • Public health and urban forests, and
  • Green infrastructure assessments. 

Applicants are encouraged to contact and work with their Forest Service Regional Urban and Community Forestry Program Manager in developing their proposal. A contact list of regional program coordinators may be found on the National Urban and Community Forestry Web site: http://www.fs.fed.us/ucf/contact_regional.html

Pre-proposals are due Dec. 15, 2009.
