Coastal Counties

A county is considered coastal if it meets one of the following two criteria:

    1. at least 15 percent of its total land area is located within the nation's coastal watershed or
    2. a portion of the entire county accounts for at least 15 percent of a coastal cataloging unit (an individual drainage basin).
