Abstract:
Westchester County Geographical Information Systems, a division of the County’s Department of Information Technology, recently developed an intranet application: Police District Locator for the Department of Probation to support ongoing efforts to promote and protect the public safety of Westchester County residents. The Police District Locator uses innovative mapping technology to quickly determine which local police jurisdiction should receive an “Order of Protection” for execution as issued by the Family Court system. Such Orders of Protection are issued to support and protect victims of domestic violence.
