02/03/2010 - RECOVERY Forest Restoration and Fuels Project Crews
(Deadline: Feb. 3, 2010) This grant funds projects that preserve and create jobs and promote economic recovery; assist those most impacted by the recession; provide investments needed to increase economic efficiency by spurring technological advances in science and health; invest in transportation, environmental protection, and other infrastructure that will provide long-term economic benefits; and stabilize State and local government budgets, in order to minimize and avoid reductions in essential services and counterproductive state and local tax increases.

Climate Showcase Grants Available
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has made available $10 million in funding for climate grants to local entities. The deadline is July 22, 2009.

Community Facilities Grant Program
(Deadline for Applications - Contact USDA State office) The purpose of the Community Facilities Grant Program is to assist in the development of essential community facilities in rural areas and towns of up to 20,000 in population. Grant funds can be used to construct, enlarge, or improve community facilities for health care, public safety, and community and public services.

Small Research Grant to Improve Health Care Quality through Health Information Technology (IT) (R03)
(Deadline: Nov. 16, 2011) The purpose of this grant is to support a wide variety of research designs in order to improve the quality, safety, effectiveness, and efficiency of health care through the implementation and use of health IT.

Exploratory and Developmental Grant to Improve Health Care Quality through Health Information Technology (IT) (R21)
(Deadline: Nov. 16, 2011) The purpose of this grant is to support short-term preparatory studies that will inform real world health IT implementation and use the conduct of more comprehensive health IT implementation research.

Tony Hawk Foundation
(Deadline: Mar. 1, 2010) This grant funds projects that promote high-quality, public skateparks in low-income areas throughout the United States.

Innovations in American Government Award
(Application Deadline: Sept. 12, yearly) Funding from Harvard University's Ash Institute for Democratic Governance and Innovation will support government innovation and creative problem solving. Applications are accepted year-round, with September 12 being the cut-off between cycles.
