Detailed information about our many programs can be found below.

From the early 1990s through 2007, the Indoor Air Quality Program helped counties improve indoor air quality and make their communities healthier through programs addressing radon, environmental tobacco smoke and children, indoor asthma triggers and air quality in schools.

Climate Protection Program
The Climate Protection Program provides counties with best practices, tools and resources to assist them in developing and implementing successful climate change programs at home.

Criminal Justice
The Criminal Justice Program helps counties find solutions to safely and effectively divert individuals with mental illness from county jails to community-based mental health treatment and to better create community alternatives to unnecessary juvenile detention.

Family Success/Child Development
Through a variety of programs NACo assists counties in learning to provide excellent early childhood development activities and to improve efforts that strengthen and support families economically.
