NACo's Workforce Development Awards
Joe Cooney Award: Excellence in Workforce Development:
Mr. Cooney was a nationally recognized contributor to the nation’s employment and training system, beginning with the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act (CETA) and continuing with the Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA). Upon Mr. Cooney's death on February 22, 1990, he generously left NACo a trust to establish the annual Joe Cooney Award.
The award will be given to an individual who has made a substantial contribution to employment and training. The winner will receive a cash award in the amount of $300 and national recognition through NACo publications and at the NACo Workforce Development and Human Services Conference.
Information on Joe Cooney Award nominations will be posted early in 2007
