Research Division
The Research Division's mission is to provide the information and research necessary to support and enhance the administration of county government in the United States. The division conducts annual surveys of county governments, writes research and issue briefs, maintains model county program information, oversees and administers the Grants Clearinghouse webpage, and serves as a clearinghouse of technical assistance and information for county officials and other interested groups. The division also coordinates and administers the Achievement Awards program, an annual awards program that seeks to recognize outstanding county government initiatives in a variety of different subject areas.
