From April 10–16, during National County Government Week, we’re turning over the front page of NACo’s 

Honoring County Heroes is the theme for this year’s celebration of National County Government Week, now in its 15th year.

County heroism comes in all shapes -- from the bravery of the emergency-services rescuer to the tenacity of the snowplow driver during a spate of winter weather to the compassion of a social services worker who protects children from abuse and neglect.

We would like to show off your heroes to the 15,000 visitors who come to NACo’s Web site each day.

We will need a photo — headshot, preferably — and a short description (100 words or less) about why your nominee is a “County Hero.” E-mail to webmaster@naco.org, or for more information, call Bev Schlotterbeck, 202/942-4249.
