Free and fair elections are an essential foundation of American democracy, and counties are an essential intergovernmental partner in our nation’s electoral system. Counties are typically responsible for administrating elections on the ground from managing the voting systems at over 100,000 polling places to overseeing over 630,000 poll workers each election cycle. During this policy summit, attendees will hear from cross-industry experts on the county role in preparing for the 2024 election in which voters are able to seamlessly cast their ballots and results are timely and accurate. Sessions will highlight the most pressing issues for counties, including the need for dedicated federal funding for election administration and the need to strengthen protections for election officials amidst heightened misinformation.
